In May 2017, the UFC announced their President, Dana White would host a weekly show, Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series with the hopes of finding talented fighters worldwide who have gone ‘under the radar’ and give them the opportunity to showcase their skills in hopes to someday compete in the UFC. For the show White had to put his promoter shoes on and obtain his own promoters license as there would be no blurred line, it was not a representation of the UFC brand, but instead a separate promotion that would allow up and coming fighters their moment to shine weekly on UFC Fight Pass. The competitors of the show will be fighting for the chance to be awarded a UFC contract that will be announced post event.
