Cage Titans FC returns to the Plymouth Memorial Hall in Plymouth, Ma. for their 37th event on Saturday January 27th. The card features several title fights and will be headlined by the regions’ top ranked bantamweight Manny Bermudez.

Prior to Monday night’s Table Titans show there were several speculated bouts, none more so than the rematch between professional middleweights Avery McPhatter and Sean Lally. The perceived controversy with the judges’ unanimous decision win in favor of “The Unpredictable One” at Cage Titans XXXV left them both fired up. Another driving force behind the rematch is the post fight public back and forth banter between the two fighters and fans on social media. Cage Titans’s promoter Michael Polvere made it official that McPhatter vs. Lally 2 will be for the promotions vacant professional middleweight title January 27th.

Two current amateur champions will move up a weight class and challenge the number one contender for their respective vacant belts. In only her second cage appearance, Taylor Thompson will take on current female amateur flyweight champion Kylie O’Hearn for the vacant bantamweight crown. The other title bout will be between the winner of the record setting Cage Titans 2017 KO Of The Year, Christopher O’Brien and one half of the promotion’s Amateur Fight Of The Year and current featherweight champion Chris Sniger.

Thompson had a strong debut, winning by TKO as her opponent could not answer the bell entering the third round after each woman delivered and received strong damaging strikes. Her performance showed she could overcome adversity after being on the receiving end of her own share of punches.

Looking back on The Champion’s past performances, O’Hearn has a proven track record of putting on fast paced, violent battles which have landed her in the top 10 pound-4-pound rankings (Tapology) among amateur and pro female fighters out of New England. It will be a fun fight, we will surely see growth from both fighters but experience may prove too much for the sophomore and by the final bell we will see a two division champ in O’Hearn.

In O’Brien’s debut, his first round :06 knockout of Rich Szeligowski stands as the fastest KO in Cage Titans’ history and that category was not his only nomination for year end honors. He is looking to build off of the successes and adversities that earned him Comeback, Amateur fighter, and KO of the year nominations.

Sniger has been dominate since dropping his debut in April of 2016. In 2017 we saw Sniger develop into a well rounded fighter who is growing leaps and bounds each fight. He had a standout year that did not go unnoticed earning year end nominations for Amateur Fighter, Upset, and of course winning the nomination for Amateur Fight Of The Year. This is a blockbuster of a match-up that will be closely contested from the first to final bell, we see O’Brien coming out on top by split decision setting up for their paths to cross again as pro’s at featherweight.
